Ocean sewage pollution is an enormous environmental problem that few people are talking about. During this series of online activities and events, we will discuss and demystify this massive ocean issue and innovative approaches being used to address it.

Join the Reef Resilience Network at 3:00 – 4:00 PM (EDT) for the first webinar on this topic, where Dr. Stephanie Wear of The Nature Conservancy will provide an overview of the issue of ocean sewage pollution – the largest contributor to coastal pollution, how sewage impacts the well-being of the environment, coral reefs, and coastal communities, and why we need to act now to mitigate it. Stephanie will debunk some commonly promoted beliefs for how to address sewage and discuss the importance of creating awareness on a larger scale to compel government agencies, funders, and the public to work toward a solution to address the threat of ocean sewage pollution.
