Resolution

• The resolution on the "Artificial Coral Reef Restoration and Rehabilitation" was confirmed - View the resolution (PDF File - 60KB).

Decisions

• Tonga was accepted as a new member
• The Secretariat's Plan of Action and the ICRI Secretariat budget for 2005-2007 were accepted - view the plan of action.
• A statement entitled "Coral Reefs in the Caribbean" was accepted. The statement is currently open for comments for ICRI Members. If you would like to review it, please contact the ICRIForum administrator (administrator@icriforum.org).
• The US announced their intention to host the next Secretariat from July 2007 to end of June 2009 and proposing to co-host the Secretariat with Mexico.
• The next ICRI General Meeting will be held from 22nd to 23rd October in Cozumel, Mexico, after ITMEMS3 (15th to 20th October 2006).

Summary of outcomes relating to ad hoc Committee

The ICRI meeting agreed the establishment of three ad hoc Committees for the following purpose

• To adapt the current score card.
• To organize an ICRI side event at the CBD COP8 in Brazil, March 2006.
• Enforcement and natural resource investigations in coral reef and associated ecosystems
