In a move to improve the management and protection of coral reefs and to better co-ordinate efforts to achieve the goals within the 'Framework of action' and the 'Call to Action', a number of resolutions and decisions have been taken at the International Coral Reef Initiative General Meeting (ICRI GM).

This review is an attempt to bring together resolutions and decisions taken since 1999 (view the listing and status of ICRI Decisions and Resolutions). It also indicates the establishment of working groups, ad hoc committees and discussion groups to execute the resolutions and decisions and gives an account of the outputs (view the listing and status of ICRI working groups, ad hoc committees and discussion groups).

The first review of the ICRI Measures was done in November 2003. The Secretariat is responsible for reviewing and updating the Measures and its working groups. The current review is being done in the light of new information and development after the 2nd ICRI GM, Okinawa, Japan, July 2004, and provides and update from the last ICRI Measure document of November 2003.
