Beginning July 1st 2009 and until June 30, 2011, the Intetnational Coral Reef Intiative Secretariat will be co-chaired by the governments of France, assisted by Monaco, and Samoa.

France and Monaco, to do so, nominated respectively, the Ambassador for the Environment, Laurent Stefanini and Patrick Van Klaveren, Minister Counsellor.

The next General Meeting will be held in Monaco from 12 - 15 January 2010. A session on coral reef fisheries as well as a full day on the Caribbean region will occur during this meeting.

On September 15th information about the full composition of the secretariat and about the general information for the ICRI GM in Monaco (accommodations travel…) will be posted. The closest airportfor Monaco is "Nice Côte d'Azur (NCE)". The first draft agenda will be posted around November 1st, 2009.

A compter du 1er juillet 2009 et jusqu'au 30 juin 2011, l'Initiative Internationale pour les Récifs Coralliens (ICRI) sera co-présidée par la France, assistée de Monaco, et les Samoa.

Dès à présent, la France et Monaco ont respectivement désigné pour ce faire, son Excellence l'Ambassadeur délégué à l'environnement, Monsieur Laurent Stefanini, et Patrick Van Klaveren, Ministre Conseiller.

La prochaine assemblée générale de l'ICRI aura lieu à Monaco du mardi 12 au vendredi 15 janvier 2010. Une session spéciale est prévue sur les pêcheries récifales. Une journée entière à thème régional sera consacrée aux Caraïbes.

Une nouvelle annonce sur le site ICRI sera faite le 15 septembre. Elle comportera la composition complète du secrétariat et tous les renseignements logistiques (dont réservation hôtels) pour Monaco (l'aéroport le plus proche étant Nice Côte d'Azur, NCE).

Le 1er novembre une proposition d'ordre du jour pour l'assemblée générale à Monaco sera disponible sur le site ICRI.

Le nouveau secrétariat tient à féliciter le secrétariat US-Mexico pour le travail accompli au bénéfice de la sauvegarde des récifs coralliens pendant son mandat.
